This is an extraordinary Wind Generator. The fan blades are made from a plastic bottle. As the blades rotate they spin two strong neodymium magnets in a coil made of 700-turns of insulated copper wire. The ends of the coil are attached to a LED. As the blades spin in the breeze the magnets turn and generate a current in the coil which can light the LED. This work was supported by IUCAA and Tata Trust. This film was made by Ashok Rupner TATA Trust: Education is one of the key focus areas for Tata Trusts, aiming towards enabling access of quality education to the underprivileged population in India.
