The weekly protest against the theft of Bil'in's lands.. Palestinians, Israelis, and international activists join together to march to the wall (a fence in that specific section) to protest against Israel's theft of Bil'in's olive groves. This has been going on for 5 years, every Friday! Unarmed civilian protesters face off against armed (and ruthless) Israeli soldiers who use tear gas (apparently mixed with pepper spray or some concoction that is definitely more powerful than tear gas alone), rubber bullets, steel bullets, and sound bombs. Several arrests are usually made; Israelis or internationals are let go usually on the same day; Palestinians are held up sometimes for 6 months, something that is called "administrative detention" and can be renewed indefinitely. One Palestinian has been killed so far during these protests; Bassem Abu Rahme, 29 years old, was shot in the chest on April 17, 2009; info here http://www.bilin-village.org/english/...
