Marriage Bill Amendment Debate

Debate on the highly anticipated marriage bill has been postponed yet again. Both sides of the National Assembly agreed to reschedule the debate arguing that it was too important to be started late in the evening. The bill contains controversial proposals including the removal of the clause requiring a husband to seek the consent of his wife or wives before marrying another.
