Singfest 2016 was a unique, year-long choral programme which aimed to bring professional musicians from Ireland and overseas together with children and young people to create new opportunities and experiences through the joy of group singing.

The programme, launched in 2016 and continuing in 2017, was presented by Music Generation Offaly/Westmeath in partnership with the Association of Irish Choirs, supported by Athlone Institute of Technology and funded through the Music Generation/Arts Council Partnership Programme.

More than 2,000 children and young people throughout Offaly and Westmeath took part in this groundbreaking choral residency which took place over 6 months and culminated in a special Gala Concert on Saturday 11 June 2016 in Athlone.
