If you're like me, you've been waiting and waiting for Apple to finally unveil the iPhone 5! The team met up to present the new and improved phone in San Francisco earlier, and we have the full run down. The iphone 5 will be available on Verizon, Sprint, and AT&T, AND will feature a fast 4G LTE data connection. It's gonna be 20 percent lighter and 18 percent thinner than the iphone 4S.
The screen is slightly bigger—it'll be a 4-inch display, compared to 3.5 inches on previous models. The quality of the phone graphics will also be improved with a 1136x640 pixel resolution, which is up from 960x640 pixels. The processor and graphics are 2x faster, thanks to a new A6 chip, AND good news for those of you who don't leave home without a charger! They're saying the battery will "exceed battery life of the iPhone 4s," with 8 hours of talk time and 225 hours standby.
For the shutterbugs out there, the new camera is 8 megapixels with 3264x2448 resolution. It'll have a panorama feature, 1080p HD video, front-facing Facetime with face detection, improved mics and improved speakers. Lastly, the phone will have a new, smaller connector called Lightning, which is an 8 pin and reversible. Now on to PRICING! The iPhone 5 starts at $199 for the 16GB model, $299 for the 32GB model, and $399 for the 64GB, all with a 2 year contract.
Pre-orders start Sept. 14, and shipping starts Sept. 21 in the US, Canada, and several other countries. So did the iPhone 5 fall short or did it meet your expectations?
