Yama-jii's shikai - Ryuujin Jakka

"万象一切灰燼と為せ, 流刃若火!"

Captain of the 1st Division (as well as the Commander-General of the Gotei 13), Yamamoto-Genryuusai Shigekuni, nicknamed Yama-jii (old-man-Yama), fights his former students, current captains Kyouraku & Ukitake, and gives them a lecture on the true meaning of justice. In an overwhelming display of strength, he releases his shikai and toasts the surrounding area.

Yama-jii's zanpakutou takes the form of a regular katana with the usual round-shaped guard, and normally disguised as a walking stick. When released, it consumes Yama-jii and the surrounding area in fire. The sheer power of the flame can disintegrate almost anything the sword is waved at, earning it the title as the most powerful fire-based zanpakutou in all of Soul Society.
