Sound check of my newly acquired vintage Yamaha SA-50 hollow body slim line guitar. I didn't clean it yet, old strings as well. These guitars were made between 1967 and 1972 in Japan. Judging by the serial number, my guitar was made in the first half of 1972. These guitars were listed at 53,000 yen and Yamaha US catalog for 1968 lists SA-50 for $289.50 with matching case for additional $49.50. That's about $2,000 to $2,500 in today's money, when adjusted for inflation. Obviously, high quality instrument. Body is made of highly figured curly maple with maple neck and rosewood fingerboard with pearl inlays, 22 frets. Tweed 4x10: 3, 10, 4, 7, 5
