The Delacorte Theater in New York City's Central Park was established in 1962. It's best known for The Public Theater's Free Shakespeare in the Park, one of New York City's most beloved summer traditions. Two plays are produced each summer, at least one of which is traditionally a play by Shakespeare.

Tickets to shows at the Theater are free, but if you wish to go, be ready to wait in line on the day of the performance to obtain them.

The Delacorte Theater is located just off of 80th Street on the southwest corner of the Great Lawn. The Theater also sits next to the Turtle Pond and is just a stone's throw away from Belvedere Castle.
