GRANITE SHOALS -- Police say the pilot of a homebuilt plane apparently did his best to avoid crashing into homes when the aircraft lost power, instead plowing into some trees in an accident that killed him and injured a passenger.
Investigators believe that Frank Rollin Enbody, 76, of Horseshoe Bay, may have been trying to get out over nearby Lake LBJ when the engine of his kit-built airplane began to pop and sputter shortly before 6:30 p.m. March 24.
Passenger Joshua Brandon Araiza, 19, was rushed to University Medical Center Brackenridge in Austin for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
