It is too late to stop the arm. It is too late to close the eye. We cripple like victims when we hear the news: another state fallen, more of the intrinsic lost to gain, to us, to oblivion and history. We see the path as it curls, seemingly innocuous and friendly; seemingly protective and sheltering; seemingly invisible and muted as it happens across the dirt, the sea, to them. In the end, it was a change that we say happened swiftly -- when in fact the arm had been wresting and curling for decades. We knew this, we went to work. It is too late to close the eye; to stop the arm.
Performed live since 1999 as "Alexandria, Falling" and developed as a concept album in 2007, this EP contains an expanded 9-song opus in rich, complex Indian / Arabic / Post-Rock fusion. Primarily instrumental (only two tracks contain vocals on this album) and segmented into individual chapters, the "Alexandria, Falling" EP is a paranoid look into a near-dystopian reality; the genocide of all that was once subtle, and real.
"1:0 Theme (The War of the One Eye)" is the overture for the instrumental EP "Alexandria, Falling" by Julean and the Rai.
