Recently, the Dalai Lama held an emergency summit on how to deal with China, stating: I have to accept failure. It is my moral responsibility to ask people what to do. Despite the historic rivalry between their sects, the Dalai Lama took the Karmapa Lama under his wing when he was exiled to India as a child. Many believe he is being groomed as a successor. But it is doubtful that members of the Dalai Lama's sect will ever accept the Karmapa Lama as a leader.
