Rutgers Students turned out to the June 20, 2012 meeting of the Board of Governors to voice their concerns over the rise in tuition and the possible separation of Rutgers-Camden from the Rutgers University system. Because there was no space for students to voice these concerns in the agenda, they resorted to a "Mic Check": a statement loudly read in a call-and-response style, refocusing the meeting toward popular concerns that have been neglected. The statement was read by Rutgers-New Brunswick student Marios Athanasiou, a member of the Rutgers Student Union.
Our apologies for not showing the students reading the statement, we were too focused on seeing how the Board reacted. Next time, we'll have both =)
