Can we do more to improve our healthcare system? Professor Max Welling argues: "Yes We Can" using three breakthrough technologies to analyze data from machine learning. Implementing a new evidence based healthcare system will take a level of ambition and vision similar to that of the Apollo missions almost 50 years ago, but if successful it has the potential to save many lives and bring healthcare to corners of the world where currently next to none exists.

Max Welling is full professor of machine learning at the University of Amsterdam, and fellow of the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research. He directs AMLAB (Amsterdam Machine Learning LAB) and co-directs QUVA Lab (Qualcomm-UvA Lab), both specialized in deep learning.
