FOUNDED in 1972, Soundmirror is a fully digital recording, post-production company specializing in acoustic music and sound for picture. Its staff has done extensive field recording around the world and has produced, edited, and mastered projects for over forty classical music labels. Its orchestral, solo, and chamber recordings have received numerous Grammy nominations (and awards) as well as special mention in Gramophone and Stereophile.
Soundmirror recorded two albums which collectively received eight nominations and two Grammy Awards at the 50th Anniversary Grammy ceremonies in 2008.
Soundmirror has recorded for virtually every major record label including Albany, Analekta, BMG, Cambria, CBS, Chandos, Decca, Denon, Deutsche Gramophon, EMI, Erato, Harmonia Mundi, Koch International Classics, N2K, Naxos, New World, Nonesuch, Philips Classics, Phonogram, RCA, Sony Classics, Telarc, Teldec, Virgin, and Warner/Elektra.
A year ago Soundmirror purchased several SSL Alpha-Link MADI SX converters. Mark Donahue was kind enough to give us an update on their use.
