500 Tons of Smuggled Iranian Arms Seized by Israeli Navy Video clips and photographs credited to the IDF
On the night of 3-4 November 2009, the Francop, an Antigua-flagged cargo ship, was intercepted by the Israel Navy. Inspection of its containers, including many marked IRISL (Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines), revealed munitions and rockets concealed behind ordinary cargo. Further inspection at the port of Ashdod revealed the ship to be smuggling about 500 tons of Iranian-supplied munitions destined for the Hizbullah.
