"Christmas Light-up" is upon us again ! This is an event staged by Sponsors and the Singapore Tourist Board. Our multi-cultural city is not totally religiously motivated. This is our annual "stimulus-spectacular", it is all about shopping and spending money, the favorite past-time for Singaporeans and tourists in this season. It is romantic alright, even so it's just below 30 degrees in the evenings (and warm rains are switching on for an hour or so).

This clip goes like that : I pick you up at the Airport, Terminal 1, you drive with me on my BMW-Bike directly to Orchard Road, where we wind our way towards downtown, to the new casinos, en route you see most of the lights, while listening to local Christmas chorals and Singapore FM radio, than I drop you off again at the airport ... Just time enough to catch some local mood ...

(Allow me some critical comment for the locals, from a resident "kepo ang-mo" ? It's such a pity the lights stop all of a sudden below the Istana ! Bras Basah Road is left in the dark !? Why that ? Can someone tell the people in charge to please light up from Tanglin, all the way to the Waterfront, without these stingy interruptions and blackouts ?!

You may compare this clip with last year's light - up, shown on this channel (Jalan-jalan (JJ) 18).
