This 5-hour bus ride brought us from Cuenca, Ecuador to Loja, the jumping-off point to get to the little village of Vilcabamba. The scenery was fascinatingly varied and the music on the bus added a built-in soundtrack. We never even cracked a book for the ride.

Vilcabamba is a village of 4000 that has about 1000 "gringos" mostly American ex-pats. If you visit Vilcabamba from Cuenca, you will likely take a bus ride just like this. We hear that the Loja Airport is closed now for renovation.

Be sure to see our other Ecuador videos including a travelogue of where to eat and stay in Cuenca and Vilcabamba, and our dental tourism video "Crown in Cuenca." On www.Twifties.TV.
