The Go programming language is a new systems language that has many applications. Recent emphasis in the tech community has focused on web applications, and I would like to introduce Go and explain how it can solve the problems in developing scalable web applications.
I will start with a basic introduction to the Go programming language with emphasis on the concurrency features. I will show how Go allows the programmer to write less and do more, while still having the benefits of a compiled language.
I will introduce the basics, starting with basic data structures and concurrency, then use those building blocks to build a fast, simple web-app. I will then explain possible use cases for which Go would be a better choice than other offerings.
