this is a multitrack studio recording created entirely with the korg kaossilator.
this is my first, and only to date, studio construct piece using the korg kaossilator. taking 25 unique kaossilator recordings made on boxing day, 2011, and arranging them into 41 discreet pieces within the multitrack session; I created a unique amalgam of sounds - different drum parts, different basses, different synthesizers, different horns - all performed on this amazing x-y pad device. each different part was purpose-recorded for this piece, so I literally started with recording drum parts; then bass parts, then adding in solos - and adding each recording directly into the multitrack master as I went - a very satisfying way to work.
the session was a lot of fun, from dropping in the super deep basses to adding in the strange and wonderful "synth solos" - this was a sheer act of creativity, and I hope, that when compared against my live kaossilator performances, that this one studio work will hold up well - it was extremely challenging but at the same time, a lot of fun to put together.
glasgow/george square and edinburgh/prince's street footage shot by dave stafford at various times between 2010 - 2011.
