Government-sponsored perversion: Drawing youth into unhealthy "lifestyles" at the Youth Pride festivities on the Boston Common, May 14, 2011. Teens came from all over the state, encouraged by their school "gay" clubs.
The 2011 theme: "We are making it better." The most popular chant of the day: "TRANS RIGHTS NOW!" In addition to the many transgender adults participating, the TranSCEND organization hosted a booth handing out condoms and information. (TranSCEND supports male-to-female transgenders and transsexuals in their behaviors -- including "sex workers.") BAGLY (Boston Alliance of GLBT Youth) offered an array of condoms and lubricants. Fenway Health Clinic was seeking youth to participate in clinical HIV studies. The Sidney Borum Jr. Clinic and the Boston GLASS drop-in center were there to support the kids in their GLBT identities. MassEquality was lobbying for the Transgender Rights bill. The radical action organization, JoinTheImpact, was recruiting. A booth offered information on Montreal Gay Pride and a Stowe, VT winter rendezvous.
The Mass. Commission on GLBT Youth, the Mass. Dept. of Education, Dept. of Public Health, and Dept. of Families and Children all tell youth that GLBT behaviors are normal and healthy.
