Ovando, Montana--a town of 50 in the beautiful Blackfoot Valley--takes its name from its early settler, Ovando Hoyt. Part 1 follows Ovando's 16th century ancestor, Simon Hoyt, from England to the Massachusetts Bay Colony. Simon and his descendants will found many towns along the way, right up to the adventurous journey of the young Ovando Hoyt from Minnesota to Montana in the 1860s, arriving in the town that bears his name.
