This is 5yr old Matthew who does his SQIG infusion mostly by himself. Mom has to draw up the medicine in the syringe which is attached to the tubing with the needle beforehand then Matthew finishes the procedure. This is his 2nd time doing it by himself so this is why mom video taped it. The SQIG site was numbed with emla cream 30mins before starting the video. First, Matthew removes the tegaderm and wipes off the emla cream. Next, he cleans the site with an alcohol pad then places the needle into his thigh. Once the needle is placed he then covers it with tegaderm so they can turn on the infusion pump when video is done. Thanks for watch.
