Benjamin R. Barber is a Senior Research Scholar at the Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society at The City University of New York's Graduate Center and the author of numerous books including "Jihad vs. McWorld: War, Terrorism, and Democracy in an Age of Interdependence," and more recently "If Mayors Ruled the World: Dysfunctional Nations, Rising Cities."
Barber sat down with Danny Postel, associate director of the Center for Middle East Studies at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies, for a discussion about the aftermath of the Arab Spring and a look at the prospects for democracy in the Middle East.
His visit to the University of Denver took place on March 4, 2014 and was sponsored by the Center for Middle East Studies and the Political Theory Club.
