http://www.cleancruising.com.au/ship.... - Built in 2000, Oceana entered service with P & O International and was last refitted in 2008. At 77,499 GRT she carries 2,016 passengers, mostly British, who are flown to Barbados for Caribbean and Central American cruises. Everything runs like clockwork with British officers and cruise staff, and mainly Indian crew and service staff. Oceana offers a high quality cruise, particularly in five-star dining, for a reasonable price. Alternative restaurants and 24-hour dining works well. The Mediterranean-styled Plaza Bistro offers many fish and seafood options; the Horizon serves an excellent range of freshly cooked burgers, fish and chicken fajitas, and the best evening dining is under the stars. Inside are grand staircases and glass-sided elevators, shops, lounges and bars, and large comfy library. Entertainment includes rotating films through the day, the usual production shows, and daytime classes. There are excellent facilities for children, who have their own fun pool, a video game room, and coffee bar/disco. On a typical two-week cruise, there are four or five formal nights; the rest of the time "smart casual".
