This tutorial shows how to make a wooden barrel in a similar way as before but using the Cycles render instead of the Blender internal render. The UV mapping of the barrel texture image files to the 3D model is the same, but the setup of the materials is different.
The Cycles render is generally considered to give more realistic results and can be hardware accelerated if you have a compatible graphics card (must support CUDA version 1.3 onwards see https://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-gpus). Low cost graphics cards that work with Cycles use the GeForce GT 520 and 610 chipsets.
