8/13/2010米子市街地を皆生から米子城跡まで歩きました。
Yonago (米子市, Yonago-shi?) is a city located in the northwest of Tottori, Japan, facing the Sea of Japan, and adjacent to Shimane. It is the prefecture's second largest city after Tottori and therefore a commercial center of the western part of this prefecture.
Yonago has always been an important crossing point of several routes in the area. Currently, it is the crosspoint of three railway lines and has a seaport to the Oki Islands. Miho-Yonago Airport, located in a neighboring city of Sakaiminato, serves the area.

米子市（よなごし）は、鳥取県の西部の市で島根県と接する。山陰地方の中央部に位置する都市。
古くから商業都市として発展し、『山陰の大阪』とも呼ばれる。
JR境線･伯備線の分岐点として、国鉄時代には米子鉄道管理局が置かれ、国道9･180･181号が通り、米子空港をもつ山陰の交通の要地となっている。
鳥取大学医学部や山陰放送（テレビ・ラジオ併設局）などがあり、山陰の拠点都市の1つとなっている。なお、山陰両県を統括する機関は米子市か松江市に置くケースが多い。
本市を中心に山陰最大の人口を擁する米子都市圏が形成されている。また、隣接する松江都市圏・出雲都市圏とともに、雲伯地方に中海・宍道湖経済圏が形成されていると見なされる。

요나고 시(일본어: 米子市 (よなごし))는 돗토리 현 서부의 시이다. 시마네 현에 접하고 산인 지방의 중앙부에 위치한다.
옛부터 상업 도시로서 발전해 "산인의 오사카"로도 불리고 있으며 철도 3선, 요나고 자동차도, 산인 자동차도, 요나고 공항 등을 포함하는 산인의 교통의 요충지이기도 하다. 또 돗토리 대학 의학부와 산인 방송(텔레비전·라디오 병설국)을 포함해 지식과 정보가 집약하는 산인의 거점 도시의 하나이다. 덧붙여 산인 양현을 총괄하는 기관은 요나고 시나 마쓰에 시에 두는 경우가 많다.
본시를 중심으로 산인 최대의 인구를 가지는 요나고 도시권이 형성되어 있다. 또 인접하는 마쓰에 도시권·이즈모 도시권과 함께 운파쿠 지방에 나카우미 호·신지 호 경제권이 형성되어 있다고 여겨지고 있다. 덧붙여 산인 최대의 온천지인 가이케 온천은 일본의 철인 3종 경기 발상지로도 유명하다.

Yonago (米子市 Yonago-shi ? ) es una ciudad que se encuentra al oeste de la Prefectura de Tottori en Japón. Según datos del 2010, la ciudad tiene una población estimada de 147.972 habitantes y una densidad de 1.120 personas por km². El área total es de 132,21 km².
La ciudad fue fundada el 1 de abril de 1927, y creció su territorio al absorber diversos pueblos y villas (uno en 1935, uno en 1936, tres en 1938, dos en 1953, ocho en 1954, uno en 1956, uno en 1968 y en 2005 con la absorción del pueblo de Yodoe).
Al oeste se ubica la península de Yumigahama (que comparte con la ciudad de Sakaiminato al oeste) que divide la bahía de Miho, en las costas del Mar de Japón, con el Nakaumi. Al sur se ubican las principales elevaciones de la ciudad. La villa de Hiezu se encuentra rodeada por la ciudad de Yonago y en el límite de ambas se ubica la desembocadura del río Hino.
