Worship Celebration: June 17, 2012 - 9:30 a.m. (CONTEMPORARY)
EPWORTH: a United Methodist Church - 3rd Sunday after Pentecost (Year B)
Welcome to Worship at Epworth! Each of us has gifts to share and many times we use them to the service of God and the Church. But there are hidden gifts as well, gifts that we overlook or are reluctant to share. Sometimes we don't see how they can be of service to God, and in some cases we may not even know that we have them! In this week's scripture David's gifts and potential are hidden, but God showed David and his whole family something they did not see -- that David God's chosen one, blessed to be the leader of the people of Israel. Scripture tells us that David was the youngest of his family, reminding us that the youngest members of our congregation have gifts to offer, and that it is often the youngest who lead us to discover our own gifts and talents. The story of David causes us all to ask what does God have in store for us? Thank you for being with us this week...you are a blessing!
