This helicopter minesweeper, invented by Dr. Bill Wattenburg and the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in 1991, could be used to quickly, effectively, and cheaply demine farm fields and desert areas of deadly mines left over from long-defunct wars.
These mines continue to affect civilians, by maiming them, and denying them use of fertile lands on which to grow food.
