I don't have the audacity to call myself the biggest Boondocks and Tupac fan but you best believe I am one of the biggest. One of the best shows I've ever seen in my life and one of my favorite rappers I've ever heard in my life, all in 3 vids and broadcasted 1 day after the other each which started Tuesday in celebration of the show and artist. Big ups to Aaron McGruder for bringing The Boondocks to life, I've throughly enjoyed the show since it's debut and glad there's gonna be another season. The title of my whole project? Huey's Revolutionary Tale. Been working on this entire project since I started my Changes vid back in August '09 for that year's PCAs and so glad that this project is finally done. Yesterday and the day before that I uploaded the first 2 vids of this project. When We Ride On Our Enemies, which showcased the nigga moments, fights, and superpowers of the characters from the show. And Do For Love, which went into the ups and downs of Huey's and Jazmine's relationship, how they've shaped each other, and how strong their bond is along with my own style of bringing out this concept. Today on Pac's B-Day I have released the final vid of this project and the vid that many folks have wanted me to finish since almost 2 years ago when I released the battle beta, Changes. My absolute favorite song from him. Besides life I had other editing projects that kept me busy which is why it took so long to finish all 3 vids but I'm glad I waited, this is the best time to release them.
If I had one video I want and need everyone to remember that I edited before I die it's this one. The beta for it has gotten over alotta views since it's release and I only edited around 30 seconds of the video at the time I created it. Since I started this entire project I've been waiting to continue from where I left off Changes after the 3rd season ended with the dvds, and I used all the eps from it including the 1st and 2nd season dvds. Took me 61 hours to finish Changes and I spent well over 150 hours on all 3 vids for this project, the most hours I've ever put down editing. Everyone whose a fan of The Boondocks knows that it's a funny-ass show but at the same time it also deals with some serious shit that goes on not only in the black community but also around the world, which I'm going to deal with in this video. War, crime, drugs, racism, discrimination, poverty, death, disbelief in God, the government's abuse of power, corruption of the youth, just the bad parts of humanity. The beta itself played on some of these themes. The song is depressing but at the same time it's also real, this wuz the first realest song I've heard in my life. And The Boondocks fit perfectly with it so I did what I had to do becuz I love this show and Tupac is one of my favorite rap artists. This video will go into the dramas of the many characters of the show and Huey's revolutionary and life-changing journey to make not only the black community but the whole world more peaceful and bring them out of the deadly and growing hell they're in.
To anyone who has been looked down, picked one, discriminated against, threatened, heartbrokened, judged, mocked, ridiculed, criticized, physically and mentally abused, I dedicate this to you as well as to Tupac, Aaron McGruder and to all The Boondocks/Tupac fans. I hope you all enjoy this vid and the previous two. God bless.
