Flashback #4:

I was thoroughly confused at first. I didnt know how to watch over some kids. It seemed to be becoming easier by the day. They were great kids. Nick was the oldest at 14 and Frankie was 10. These kids could get whatever toy they could ever possibly want, but they mostly just played their piano and did stuff together.

They adored me. At least I would hope they did. Nick always wanted to play me a new song he wrote. I started to enjoy working here as often as I did. It helped get me out of debt with Marcus right away and keep me from eviction. I had even saved some money to go to a junior college somewhere. I worked almost everyday now. I did feel bad that their parents were hardly ever around. Their jobs gave them a lot of opportunity to take extended vacations. They weren't able to take their kids with them because they had to go to school.

After I would dropped them off at school was my only time off from this job. I would go back to my apartment and relax. Now that I had more money, I was able to gamble more often. I would go out to the bar that Marcus was at and place a bet or two.

I had just dropped Nick off at his high school and Frankie at his middle school. I headed back to my apartment to take a shower. Marcus called my phone and asked if I was going out to the bar today. I assured him that I was.

Once I got to the bar, I greeted Marcus. He was with a crowed of his posse. He told me to order myself a drink off of his tab. I told him that I would have to go back to work so I shouldn't be drinking. I usually came up with an excuse as to why I would never drink with anyone. I don't ever drink and never will. I have too much fear that I will become what my father was.

"Ok, suit yourself." Marcus replied. "But, why don't you ask your stalker if he wants something."

"What?" I choked. Who the hell is stalking me? Marcus pointed behind me. I was expecting to see an ex of mine or something. Some one other than who I actually saw. My blood pressure soared as I stormed over to a boy in a sleek black jacket. It was the same sleek black jacketed boy that I had dropped off at school only a few hours ago. "Nicholas!"

Nick turned around quickly. He must have not wanted me to catch him. I put my hand upon his shoulder and spun him around. Nick coward under my touch. "Hey Joe. Funn-nny runnnning into yo-ou here." He stammered out.

"Hilarious. What the hell are you doing here? Why aren't you in school?" I was beyond pissed.

"Umm... Umm..." Nick was searching for an excuse to feed me.

"Don't you dare try to lie to me. You are going to be in so much trouble. Just wait til I call your parents."

"Joe!" Nick yelled. "Please don't call them." His tone softened.

"I'm taking you home right now! Let's go!" I grabbed his upper arm and yanked him out of the bar.
