Bandit, a 10-year old shih tzu was rescued on 12/14/12 by reTails from animal control in New Castle, IN. He came into their shelter on 11/30/12 as a stray. They called him Harpo. Before offering Harpo for adoption, we did a routine scan for a microchip and found a chip where none was noted on the shelter's paperwork. A call to the microchip company (Home Again) yielded considerable information, names, phone numbers, etc. These don't always pan out, but we still go through the process.

The first number we called was answered by the owner. He was skeptical, saying the dog had been missing for 5 years. He was clearly moved, but thought maybe it was some kind of a mean prank. We assured him it wasn't a prank. The dog matched the description, and he was only living 5 minutes from our adoption center in Washington Square Mall.

Michael came to get Bandit (who was still rather shell-shocked from his time in shelter), and the rest you can watch!

Bandit was born in April, 2002 and has been owned by Michael since he was a palm-sized puppy.

Michael got a really wonderful gift for this holiday!!
