It is important you read this before watching the video.

There is alot of hype about Le Tour de France, especially amongst middle aged men on good incomes who bear no resmblence to a professional cyclist's physique. None more so than in Shepparton, Australia, where many of them spend a fortune getting the right cycling technology and apparel to match.

A group of them have put their hands into their large pockets once more and are joining a cycling tour through France, riding some of the stages along the way. They have been a very exited bunch for a while now.

Well it was time some of us in town toned them down a bit. Nothing like a sting to get a laugh and bring them back to reality.

So this is how it went.

Two of the tour members, known romantically as "Kooka" and "Shagga", each received a letter from Tour officials in France. They were two of sixty lucky guys worldwide who had won a day with a team as an "observer rider". They would each meet team members and partake in some riding with them. Further details would come from the Tour's Aussie representative and each team manager. However, they would have to submit to a drug test and they were advised that a sampling pack would he delivered to them.

A "mole" with a church like name was planted within the tour group to assess reactions and feed back vital intelligence to the sting committee. Reaction was fast and circumspect. What threw the victims was that the letters actually did come from France.

They received their letters just a day before a 3 day alpine tour with a number of friends (including many on the sting committee). Well, you couldn't shut Kooka up. He showed everyone the letter and tried to display a veneer of indifference but we all knew his underlying level of exitement.

Shagga, however, became convinced it was a scam by some international money laundering outfit and made his views known to Kooka. They decided it was a scam and communicated this to mole who passed it on immediately to HQ. This was good. They were far too dumb to suspect us!

Some time passed but eventually the boys received their long awaited sample package from the Tour's Melbourne representative. In it were details of the day with the team, a map of the route they would be riding on, a "no drugs" declaration, two urine sample jars and a pathology submission form. They were required to fill the jars and submit them to a local doctor who would hold them pending instructions to then submit them for testing if the "no drugs" declarations showed inaccuracies or their sample was picked from a random selection. They had to complete the declaration and send it back to the rep with two passport sized photos of themselves so that security passes could be prepared and given to them in France. The rep was for real and left his mobile and email addresses for them to contact him.

They got back to him very quickly and word got back to HQ, via mole, of a complete reversal in their approach. They were very exited, emailing mates saying "its legit boys". Very quickly, they were off buying team jerseys (as suggested in the letter) and making that (now fateful) trip to the doctor's surgery. HQ was very impressed with how they discretely presented their samples to the bewildered girl at the front desk.

Shortly after, mole reported that the samples had been received and checked and were ready for collection. Now it was time to sting them!

Our unfortunate victims were told that some media had been organised for them and they were asked to be at a local cafe (operated by a sting committee member) for interviews. They turned up very obligingly and on time. After gloating about it to some female friends of theirs (who knew what was going to happen), even showing them their new jerseys, they punced their way up to the bar and the rest is what you need to now see (Kooka at the bar and Shagga still gloating to the women).

Hopefully you can see their urine samples on the bar! Note the small yellow tops just above the light fitting.
