This step by step tutorial will show you how to create your own Minecraft Beta Server! Try to follow along, I know it is a bit fast but you can pause at any time. Bukkit is a new custom server created to replace hMod, it is is the developmental version but it still works. I suggest watching the video first to see what you need to do and then watch it again while following the directions.

I'm sorry guys but I can't answer all of your questions, I would like to help all of you but most of your questions have been answered dozens of times. Please Google it, they will have the answers to all of your questions. I'm sure someone on the Minecraft forums could help you as well, they are there for a reason! If you are having problems with Bukkit itself check out the help section on the Bukkit forum. I will not be updating the links in the video so if something doesn't work try looking for an updated version.

1. Go to http://www.whatismyip.com and copy your IP address.
2. Paste the IP address into your url bar.
3. Enter your router login and password, if you don't know what it is you can refer to this website for the default passwords: http://www.routerpasswords.com
If this still doesn't work ask the person that setup your internet or reset your router by holding down the reset button. If you reset your router you will have to setup your internet again.
4. Find a page labelled "Port Forwarding & Triggering" not all routers are the same but it should have a similar title, just look around in the settings until you find it.
5. Enter 25565 for the starting and ending ports. If you decide to change the port in the server.properties file you will need to forward this port instead.
6. Check if port is open on http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/ope...

»Follow the directions exactly how they are shown (with the exception of the IP).
»Please do not advertise your server in the comments, if you do I will delete your post.
»If you would like to upload a video of your own server you may submit it as a video response.
»Give your friends your external IP address for them to connect to your server. You also use that same IP but you can also use or type in localhost. If you don't remember your external IP just go to http://whatismyip.com
»Note if you plan on changing your port in the server.properties file you must include that at the end of the ip when connecting to the server. For example the first part is the server's ip address and 25566 would be the port, the two are separated by a colon. You must forward this port!
