Why am I VIDEO blogging?
I have started my Empowering the Mature Mind blog for a few reasons, and they are based on my desire to share my passions and educate the public about things that I think bring value to all of our lives. I am a licensed Architect with 15 years in the industry, over 1 million square feet of commercial architecture, property investor, and an entrepreneur (real estate and small business opportunity), and a loving dad to two beautiful children. I am passionate about things I believe in, and I enjoy sharing these passions with the public.
With 10,000 people turning 65 years old starting in January of this year 2011, I want to (as an architect) let you know:
1. How you can remodel your home to stay home (where up to 90% of those polled by AARP would prefer to be).
2. Why it works and makes sense for your family, and for your finances vs. assisted living or other "away from home" live-in solutions.

These blogs will typically include the following topics:
• In the realm of "Empowering the Mature Market" (the aging and elderly) I will be discussing "The Aging in Place Phenomenon
o Why you need a professional
o It's a TEAM effort -- CAPS, GC, Interior Designer, OT
o Planning vs PANIC mode
o White Paper: There's $500,000 hiding in your home
My grandmother lived in a "broken home" from the Aging-In-Place perspective. Most of our homes are "broken" for design and layout related to the huge change in our age demographic that is going to be explosively bulging in the 65+ group in the next 30 years. We have to pay attention, and we have to be proactive.
With my strong desire for personal growth and knowledge, I strive to provide for myself and those around me an energetic and enjoyable environment for creating "wealth" in all avenues of life. I act honestly and sincerely through a positive energy and strong work ethic. I stay true to my beliefs and focused on the goals of fulfillment in the spiritual, physical, mental, emotional, and financial aspects of my own life and of the lives I come in contact with.
