Fresh herbs add amazing flavour to meals. Dave Hansen from Sage Garden Herbs in Winnipeg provideds tips for growing herbs indoors. Dietitian Rosemary Sz badka shows how to make pesto using fresh Manitoba ingredients.

Made in Manitoba Pesto
1 cup parsley
1/2 cup fresh herbs (eg basil, oregano, lemon thyme etc)
1/3 cup unsalted sunflower seeds
1/4 cup grated Asiago or Parmesan cheese
2 cloves peeled garlic
1/4 cup canola oil

Combine all ingredients in a blender and puree. If the mixture is too thick, thin with water.
