Miss McLaughlin began her teaching career as a fifth grade teacher at Webster Elementary. During her tenure at Webster, she served as Secretary for the School Site Council and Treasurer for the PTA. In 2008, she was honored by the Altadena Branch of the NAACP as a Star of Education for Pasadena Unified School District. In 2009, Miss McLaughlin began teaching at Blair Middle School. She taught sixth grade math and science as well as seventh and eighth grade English. Miss McLaughlin currently teaches seventh grade English and is a pilot teacher of the District's Common Core transition team. In 2012, she played the role of the mother in the Blair's Ovations performance of Footloose. She currently serves on the School Site Council as President.
