EMIL is an environment containing software frameworks and tools that allow to create gestural and tangible user interfaces for interactive surfaces like multi-touch tables or touch screens. A user interface can either be created by programming it or by using drag and drop directly on the surface.

Technically, EMIL uses Adobe Flash and Adobe AIR. The software framework is based on TUIO AS3 (http://bubblebird.at/tuioflash/tuio-a...).

EMIL is a research project of the Hochschule RheinMain (RheinMain University of Applied Sciences) in Wiesbaden, Germany. EMIL has been funded by the BMBF FHProfUnt program (FKZ 17043X10).
