Michael Smith-Welch and I ran a weekend long workshop on the theme of "Cabinet of Curiosities," in collaboration with Güven Çatak of BUG, the Bahçeşehir University Game Lab ( bug.bahcesehir.edu.tr ) in Istanbul. We introduced Scratch and the Picoboard as tools for the participants to create playful physical interactions with their digital creations. As inspiration we showed images of cabinets of curiosity and of Caine's arcade (an imaginative video arcade created by a kid using cardboard). The participants took advantage of the open-ended environment and diverse materials we provided to create an amazing array of interactive experiences. Video shot by Güven Çatak and Burak Tamer.
