How to clean the inside of the vacuum pump. There will be some sludge gunk you will need to wipe out and scrape off the cartridge.

Do not use carburetor cleaner on the cartridge or the surrounding area. I only used it on the sight glass, but it is not necessary. A pipe cleaner and canned air works okay.

When running a Harvest Right freeze dryer, moisture gets vacuumed into the pump during the sublimation process and the water rusts the splash guard.

Tools needed:
3/16" Allen wrench to remove the 6 bolts on the pump cover
3/16" socket bit with a ratchet & extender to remove the splash guard bolt
516" and 7/16" socket to remove the 6 bolts on the cartridge if you decide to replace the bolts as well.
