In this video I declare to the world that I am a skeptic and an atheist in hopes that other people who look a little bit more like me and a little bit less like the stereotypical atheist (middle aged, middle class, white guy) will see that there is a place for them in the skeptics movement and the atheist community. I also explain how much a sense of community and shared purpose was apart of my identity as a Christian and how difficult it was for me to give that up when I became atheist in hopes of bringing awareness to what I feel is a largely overlooked hindrance to the skeptics/atheist movement: a lack of community.
