Lee Tansey, 33, and Rickton Henry, 31, both from Salford, Greater Manchester, were jailed after admitting going into the bank armed with a machete, crow bar and sledgehammer.
The thugs order the guard to open the box, but instead the brave security man attempts to fight them away with it. Tansey, Henry, and a third man eventually fled the bank in Elland, West Yorks, with £150,000.
Tansey was jailed for 11 years for robbery at Bradford Crown Court while Henry was caged for eight years and eight months. They were both extradited having fled to Spain.
