“Thinking Particles” Pedro Jose Gris was born in the Dominican Republic in 1958, in the city of Santiago de los Caballeros. At an early age, Gris understood that art in all its expressions was his destiny. After earning a graduate degree in philosophy of arts, linguistics and literature, he initiated his ongoing research on the techniques of the great masters. A highly focused, intensely disciplined individual, Pedro Gris dedicates the majority of his days to producing collages, drawings and acrylic works. Over nearly two decades he has created a sizable body of work, much of which has appeared in multiple museum exhibitions; the works range from early figurative visual narratives, to semi-abstract works, and culminate in his recent totally abstract paintings, which make their debut here in New York City when “Thinking Particles” is presented by Kerr Museum Productions.
