PEARL HARBOR (July 10, 2012) U.S. Naval Officers, assigned to the guided-missile destroyer USS Chaffee (DDG 90), talk about the steps taken aboard Chaffee to reduce energy consumption. Chaffee is participating in the Great Green Fleet during the Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2012 exercise. RIMPAC 2012 is the world's largest international maritime exercise, including twenty-two nations, more than 40 ships and submarines, and more than 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel, and provides a unique training opportunity that helps participants foster and sustain cooperative relationships that are critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world's oceans.
