Our Grade 3/4 students created a playground for our school. They had to create three platforms showing their knowledge of Area and Perimeter. We first solved the Math equations (i.e. Area: 5 sq. units x 5 sq. units= 25 sq. units); then they used unifix cubes to create their three platforms; then drew the play structures on top of each platform and then they used graph paper. Finally they used the Minecraft app to create their proposed playground for our school. Watch for a lava waterfall; water slides; roller coasters; random animals and also underground adventures.
