I was using the gym when I was approached by a SDSU police officer who informed me he had received a call about someone with a camera (in?) the restroom.
I was the only one recently in the restroom but did not have my camera out until I came out to charge it. The only other person there, who called, was a large faculty member who suspected I was homeless and that I did not have the right to use the facility. What he did not know was that I am an alumni at SDSU, and that the building is (evidently) open for use by the public, as is the Library that bears the same confusing sign as the gym.
So as the video shows, the officer appears to state that a person would only have the right to use the building if they are a student, faculty or current alumni. However, when I mention to him that the same sign stating that only 'invited guests' are allowed inside is the same sign which is on the front of the library... -And the library is open to the community, he realizes he has no basis for asking me to leave.
