In honor of Black History Month at SECOND SUNDAY CINEMA, a monthly event coordinated by Shannon Tolson, the "Spirit" of Mrs. Alberta Williams King, mother of the Rev. Dr. M.L. King Jr., introduces a big screen version of the PBS film "Freedom Riders" at Clearlake United Methodist Church on February 12, 2012 in Clearlake California.. Mrs. King also recounted the experiences of Voris Brumfield growing up in Houston, Texas with segregation in the 1950's and 1960's and the impacts on her life. Brumfield is the current Pastor of Middletown Community United Methodist Church and has embodied the late Mrs. King for ten years in special presentations. Attendees were challenged to identify where discrimination exisits in 2012 and what they willing to commit to do to change it.
