On October 9, 2004, five hundred conservationists organized by the Western Canada Wilderness Committee, Rainforest Action Network, Gettin' Higher Choir, and Spectral Q, converged in a Weyerhaeuser clearcut in the Upper Walbran Valley calling for the protection of ancient forests around the world. See Jeremy Williams' documentary on this historic event, the largest environmental gathering in BC's woods since the Clayoquot Sound protests in 1993.
