Deidra Riggs is a freelance writer and managing editor of TheHighCalling, an online network that encourages everyday conversations about work, life, and God. She is also a contributor to incourage.me, social media consultant to the American Baptist Churches of Nebraska, and owner of the blog JumpingTandem, where she writes about faith, grace, and saving a place at the table for you.

Deidra thinks she too often plays it way too safe in the things that matter most, and she doubts that she's alone in this. In all things, she tries to remember the advice of her grandmother, who reminded her often to "Keep looking up."

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
