The game TARGET (or TARG) was a very popular game for the Sol-20 microcomputer, and was sold starting in 1977.
Radio Shack started selling game in June, 1979, for the TRS-80 market called "Flying Saucers" which was a warmed over version of TARGET to the point that some of the graphics don't make a lot of sense (e.g., the parachuting people) because the character generator didn't have the same symbols that the Sol computer did.
Curiously, in 1979 Small System Software was also selling a game called "AIR RAID" for the TRS-80 which was yet another rip-off of TARGET. See youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWzxct... for that version.
I'm curious to know if Radio Shack knew they were selling a ripped off game.
