The Stability Pull-up (wide grip) is a Suspension Mode exercise. The Yoak can be anchored a variety of ways to increase instability. In this video, the single anchor point forces the user to balance the “pull” with both arms equally. Any imbalance can be seen in the movement of the Yoak. Near the end of the video, it’s evident this user is pulling more with his left vs. right arm. This mechanical feedback helps to make you aware of weak links so that you can spend time correcting them with the goal of smooth, sustainable, and injury free movement.
How to execute: 1. Suspend the Yoak to your desired height 2. Suspend your body weight by holding on to the Yoak at your desired hand position 3. Engaging your core and flexing your arms and back muslces, pull your body towards the Yoak 4. Repeat as desired
Suspension Mode is one of three primary Yoak Modes. The others are Bar/Squat Mode and Parallette Mode.
